We were contacted by a wellbeing clinic in London to assist in the design and fit out of their wellbeing clinic gym.
The Brief
The space was located on the upper ground floor of traditional style town house, typical of the Marylebone area. The space was relatively large at approx 45sqm, had a more than adequate ceiling height and had plenty of natural light due to the large skylight and large sash windows. We were tasked with designing a class-based gym that featured treadmills, free weights and suspension trainers. Besides the equipment we were asked to provide a stylish, hard-wearing flooring and to mirror two walls.
The Design and Layout
We devised a layout that the client was happy with and once signed off were able to commence ordering the equipment and planning the fit out.
Gym Flooring
The flooring for this gym design project was a key factor for this gym fit out. The gym was located on the upper ground floor and used to be a ballroom. As such there was beautiful original parquet flooring that we had to be careful to protect. Once we were certain that no damage to the floor would be caused by fitting Pavigym gym flooring we were able to fit a 22mm thick interlocking gym tiles.
Gym Wall Fixings
Due to the location and age of the building which was built using old style bricks and soft lime mortar it was important to ascertain the optimum fixings for the wall mounted TRX single multi mounts. It was determined that the best way to secure the mounts was to use a resin and threaded studs. These were carefully fixed to the wall, followed by the gym mirrors, flooring, training benches and treadmills
