Over the last 18 months we have received a large number of enquiries from people looking for gym fit outs. They want to convert their garage or spare room into a fully functioning home gym space. The shift to home working due to the COVID-19 pandemic has meant more people are seeing the benefits of having quick and easy access to a home fitness space.
It was for this reason that prompted our client, who had recently moved to a new property, to contact us about converting a spare room into a home gym.
Home Gym Fit Out In Ascot – The Brief
The space our client wanted to transform into a fully functioning home gym was a media room. The brief our client gave us was to fit new gym flooring, mirroring and to install a range of strength training equipment. Although the space was relatively small and had a low ceiling height we were able to advise the client on suitable pieces of home gym equipment. The space had good access via the garage so it didn’t restrict what could be brought into the room.
Gym Design, Concept and Layout.
After understanding the brief we got to work providing a concept and gym layout for the space with all the gym equipment in place. There were two key pieces of equipment, a squat rack and multi gym, so these had to be positioned in the right place. The other smaller pieces could then be placed strategically in the room.
Preparation Works
The first stage in preparing the room was to take up the existing flooring as we were fitting 20mm thick rubber gym tiles. Once the gym flooring was down we were then able to start delivering the equipment, and fitting mirrors.
