Over the last 2 years we have received more enquiries from people looking to convert their garage or spare room into a fully functioning home gym space. This trend for a home gyms has become more established since the pandemic and the move towards a hybrid style of working which has seen more people working from home on several days during the week.
We were tasked with planning the layout for a room that our client wanted to convert into a home gym. The room our client wanted to fit out with home gym equipment was a relatively small bedroom. The dimensions of the bedroom meant that it was going to be a challenge fitting all the equipment in the space that our client wanted.
After understanding the brief we got to work providing a suitable layout for the space with all the home gym equipment in place. A good gym layout will provide an efficient use of space, give easy access to all pieces of equipment, and most of all be safe to use.
Due to the relatively small gap under the wooden doors that opened up into the room we recommended a very thin but strong tile to cover the existing wooden flooring. The dumbbells that were going to be used in the room were relatively light so we opted for Pavigym’s 7mm thick Endurance flooring.
The list of gym equipment we installed was as follows:
- Technogym MyRun Treadmill
- Technogym Bench
- Pavigym Endurance Flooring (7mm)
- Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells
