We were contacted to plan and fit out a space for a client in Sevenoaks, Kent. The space we were asked to fit-out with home gym equipment was a downstairs room that was already being used as a makeshift gym. The client wanted to upgrade the space to make it into a fully operational home gym with luxury gym equipment.
Brief
Our client had a good idea of what equipment he required in the space. But careful planning was required to ensure that the equipment was installed in the correct positions. This was crucial as one of the pieces was Technogym’s Kinesis Personal Vision which required mounting to the wall, so there was very little margin for error.
Gym Design and Layout
Precise measurements were very important not only from a user perspective, but also from an installation perspective. This was to ensure the chosen luxury gym equipment was installed correctly and safely. Also, although we were mounting one large piece of equipment to an external wall, it still required extra strengthening due to the weight of the machine and the way it is operated. We therefore had to cut two sections of plasterboard away and affix two large pieces of timber to the internal block-work which could be used to help secure the equipment to the wall.
