We were instructed to consult and source gym equipment for a home gym design Knightsbridge, London, as part of a complete redesign of a large town house. The room allocated for the home gym was a lower ground room adjacent to the garden which benefitted from lots of natural light, which therefore meant the gym would be bright and light.
GYM DESIGN AND LAYOUT
As the room had never previously been used as a gym a degree of adaptation and reworking was required, including the removal of the carpet and laying down of proper gym flooring. The relatively small size of the room meant that the gym design layout options were somewhat limited, and also the low ceiling height meant some restrictions to the type and size of the gym equipment that could be installed. However, once we were aware of the room’s dimensions we could advise on the gym equipment that was required and were able to devise a suitable design.
As regular gym goers the clients had a good understanding of their home gym equipment requirements so we were able to provide clear guidance on the gym equipment that they required and their delivery and installation timeframes. The home gym equipment that was procured and installed was as follows;
1 x Technogym Forma Treadmill
1 x Technogym Adjustable Bench
1 x Technogym Lower Back Bench
1 x Concept 2 Ski Erg
1 x Jordan Ignite Premium Rubber Dumbbells (2kg-20kg) & Vertical Rack
1 x Redcord Trainer
2 x Large Free Standing Mirrors
HOME GYM FLOORING
The client wanted a very good quality gym flooring and was already aware of the leading gym flooring manufacturer Pavigym, who make a wide range of floorings to suit different uses and settings. They also provide a wide range of colours and finishes which is perfect from a design perspective giving clients plenty of options to suit their tastes and home furnishings.
